Journey of the Past
| Mountaintop Church has been the recipient of an incredible outpouring of God! |
Every journey starts with the first step. Nine years ago, a few faithful souls decided to anchor their trust in God by continuing to build on a foundation that was begun in the late 1980’s by the late Pastor Ken Young. Pastor Ken was a quadriplegic that refused to be limited by his physical ailments. In fact, he saw his limitations as the hand of God working through his weak- ness as a mortal man for the glory of God. And by the grace and power of God, guided by the Holy Spirit, a journey for all of us was shaped long before we ever had an inkling of walking through the front doors! Sound familiar?
For the next nine years the congregation at Mountaintop began to grow and persevered challenge after challenge. Miraculously God’s hand continued to show itself through a series of events that could only be attributed to Him alone. First, the Assemblies of God decided to replant an existing Church and agreed to commit itself to a new work to keep the word of God alive. Second, Pastor Matthew Jones and his family accepted the call and made a faith decision to shepherd a fledgling flock. And not surprisingly, God in His awesome unwavering faith- fulness started to fill the seats in a gym style auditorium to the point where the first building renovation was necessary to handle all of the souls that have been entrusted to all of us.
The time of miracles has not stopped. The Lord has called upon us again to do our part to help facilitate this work so that the kingdom can grow in the Mt. Olive area. |

Journey of the Future
“the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the
violent take it by force.” Matt 11:12
| We at Mountaintop desire to more aggressively, and to a greater capacity fulfill the mandates of the gospel in this last day! It’s time to mobilize resources to respond to next level of God’s calling: |
The immediate need is the town mandated hookup of Mountaintop to the city sewer. The sewer hookup will not only upgrade Mountaintop to present code but will open opportunity to open to future expansion as well as complete the café in order to open it up as an outreach to young adults.
A debt reduction campaign that will retire Mountaintop’s current mortgage of $600,000. . While many campaigns center on raising money on structures of brick and steel, this campaign is one of Freedom to Build God’s Kingdom. This will free up $4,000 monthly to be applied to ministry initiatives such as a youth center, continued church plants, and an expansion of ministry staff that would increase the quality and scope of our outreach.
The continuation of capital improvements that will continue to maintain, update, en- hance and beautify our facility. |
