REV MATTHEW JONES

After receiving a Bachelor’s in Biblical Literature at Northeastern Bible College in 1990, Pastor Matt served 9 years as principal of Full Gospel Christian School and two additional years pastoring Crossroads Assembly of God.
For the past 14 years he has pastored Mountaintop Assembly of God. Mountaintop Church was a revitalization work in partnership with the New Jersey District of the Assemblies of God. After starting with less than a dozen people, Mountaintop is now almost 200 people strong. Additionally, Mountaintop has planted 3 Church works in local surrounding communities.
Pastor Matt has also served on the sectional committee of the Northwest Section of the New Jersey District of the Assemblies of God since 2003. He has served as Assistant Presbyter for 6 years assisting in church planting and revitalization, he served as Presbyter for 6 years overseeing ministerial credentialing, and pastoral changeovers.
He has helped a number of Churches back to church health as a certified NCD surveyor and coach.
As part of his passion for training and raising up leadership, Pastor Matt served as principal and instructor at the Northwest campus of the New Jersey District School of ministry in Hackettstown, NJ.
He also is the founder and President of Partners In Compassion, a faith based community organization that has successfully brought local government, private citizens, local business and industry, as well as local churches together to carry out community initiatives such as food pantry, senior citizen initiatives, as well as the newest initiative, The Mount Olive Youth Center Project.
In his spare time Pastor Matt loves photography and video editing projects. He also enjoys exploring the history and treasures of New York City with his wife, Diane and three children, Matthew, Anthony and Dionna.
